Marlin Quay Marina

Marlin Quay Marina has been anchored in a rich history of boating and fishing in the Murrells Inlet and Garden City Beach community since the 1960s.

Originally named the Gulf Stream Marina, the marina changed to its current name in 1985 because of the many prize-winning marlins caught by local fishermen competing in Marlin Quay’s regularly hosted fishing tournaments.

As one of the oldest marinas in the area, the Marlin Quay is in need of many property upgrades and renovations. Father and son, Mark Lawhon and Chris Lawhon, who purchased the marina in 2014 plan to not only restore the marina to its former glory, but to also start a new chapter with the new construction in 2019 of a combined restaurant-bar-store facility that will seat many guests indoors and outdoors on two levels.
